Red River 2015: Amarillo to Red River

Fewer than 300 miles separate our home in Amarillo, Texas, from the quaint resort town of Red River, N.M. As this was our family’s first trip there, we caravanned with our fellow Jeepers across the northern Texas Panhandle and across northeast New Mexico. The afternoon skies grew cloudy as morning gave way to afternoon, ultimately yielding plenty of rain as we climbed the nearly 9,000 feet in elevation to Red River.

The short, quick-and-dirty video compilation below reveals the dramatic changes we saw in our journey from the High Plains of Texas to the rugged mountains of New Mexico.

Having arrived safely at our destination, everyone was eager to settle in at the hotel and to enjoy a good meal!
