In the summer of 2003, my wife and I drove to New Orleans to visit the D-Day Museum (now the National World War II Museum — and well worth spending a few days perusing!) and to enjoy Route 2003, a special event put on each year by Chrysler. The event included static displays of classic and contemporary vehicles and memorabilia, as well as affording visitors the chance to drive Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles in their natural environment.
This was the first time I ever got behind the wheel of a Jeep. I also was able to get an up-close look at the 1997 Jeep Dakar concept, which was my favorite Jeep concept at the time. And, we checked out the TJ film vehicle used in “Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life.” And, and, and … Flip through the full album for lots of fun stuff.
It was an absolute blast.
