Christmas

No Jeep parts, but …

My wife gifted me a couple of nice signs for the garage. 😊

Though I took advantage of unseasonably warm weather yesterday to get started, the time has finally come to put up our Christmas lights!

We’ve made a few minor additions to our display this year, and I’m excited to see it all come together. Hopefully, I’ll be able to push and get everything up before the long Thanksgiving weekend is over.

Can you feel it yet?

The Christmas Spirit has hit me hard and early this year. I’ve already updated the plan for our yard to reflect new items built or bought since last season. It’s comical, how much time I spend thinking about it!

I’m also preparing for this year’s Center City Electric Light Parade. I’d like to do some new things to decorate Smokey. It’s a toss-up, really, which I put more energy into preparing to decorate — the Jeep or the house!

Christmas means … contests!

In the last few years, social media contests have become a staple of the holiday season in the Jeeping community. Companies as diverse as Poison Spyder, Metalcloak, Rebel Off-Road, Rigid Industries, Teraflex and many others have all gotten into the Christmas-giveaway spirit.

This year, a few contests have kicked things off with CyberWeek giveaways sure to warm your Jeeping heart:

Bestop Family Festive 14: Head over to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, where you can like/follow Bestop’s, Tuffy Security Products’ and Baja Designs’ accounts on all three networks. Then, watch Bestop’s Facebook page each day for that day’s entry link, as the companies offer great prizes for 14 consecutive days. This one is nearly over, but it’s not too late to get in on the fun. All prize winners will be announced Dec. 6.

Seven Slot Battalion Op No. 5: Seven Slot Battalion and Adams Driveshaft & Off-Road have teamed to offer one lucky winner the 1310 front or rear driveshaft of his or her choice and a comfy Seven Slot Battalion T-shirt. Look up Seven Slot Battalion on Instagram, share the appropriate image and follow the related instructions.

Tom Woods Driveshaft: If your shaft isn’t a Woody, you’ll want to get in on this one. Follow Tom Woods’ IG account and share the contest image. Make sure you tag both Tom Woods and a buddy and include the contest hashtag. One important note: There’s no limit on the number of entries, so give those smartphones a workout! (Fair warning — I play to win. 😉 ) The contest ends Dec. 11.

There are, no doubt, others I’ve not come across, and the season is just getting started. Share your favorite Christmas contests or that special prize you won in a past year!
